It’s been public knowledge for quite some time now that Percy Harvin wanted to be traded or released by the Minnesota Vikings, and it looks like he finally got his wish.
As first reported this morning by Jay Glazer, it appears that the Vikings have traded the oft-injured wide receiver to the Seattle Seahawks. While we’re still waiting on the officially terms of the deal, it is widely believed that the Seahawks sent the Vikings their first-round pick in this year’s draft; meaning Minnesota would have picks No. 23 and 25. Numerous reports are also indicating that the trade was contingent upon Harvin signing an extension with Seattle, and a deal looks to be done in the next 48 hours; pending physical of course.
In my opinion, if Seattle did indeed give up their first-round pick for Harvin, they may have overspent for his services. That said, Harvin adds another dangerous dimension to the Seahawks’ potent offense and a solid No. 2 target for quarterback Russell Wilson.
Stay tuned to eDraft for updated details on the deal as they become available.
