Best Recruiting Classes of The ACC

With National Signing day coming up on Wednesday we are certain for some late drama in the race to sign the best recruits in the nation.  However,  as of writing this article Florida State are leading the way in the ACC in terms of quality and depth from their class.

Five-star prospect Dalvin Cook has already signed his letter of intent and is locked into the Seminoles.  The 5’11” running back from Miami was the second ranked running back in the entire nation and is a welcome face on campus thanks to the early exits of Devonta Freeman and James Wilder Jr.

Two four-star recruits in linebacker Kain Daub and defensive back Trey Marshall have also signed their letters or intent - They were the 22nd and 25th ranked prospects from the state of Florida respectively.

Outside of two lineman – a three and a two star recruit – that is where the fun ends for Florida State as a lot of players could be in contention to flip their decisions on signing day.  The biggest name to not yet sign his letter of intent is Travis Rudolph.  The six-foot receiver is the number one wideout in the nation and would slide straight into the Jimbo Fisher’s offense.  Ten more four-star recruits are still yet to sign their letters of intent to Florida State but none are expected to defect from the National Champions at the last minute.

It is reported that Fisher is still hot on the trail of Chad Thomas,  a five-star defensive end who committed to Miami way back in July.  Thomas visited the ‘Noles in January and could be about to defect from his home town in favor of going after a title.  It would be a major coup if recruiters Tim Brewster and Sal Sunseri could come through and steal the second ranked pass rusher in the nation from under the Hurricanes’ nose.

Clemson beat Miami into second thanks to five players already signing their letter of intent including five-star quarterback Deshaun Watson.  The 6’3” signal caller could step straight into the lineup and replace the NFL-bound Tajh Boyd.  On top of Watson four-star wide receivers Demarre Kitt and Artavis Scott have committed and bring much needed depth to the position with Sammy Watkins and Martavis Bryant joining Boyd in the NFL.

Two Georgia born prospects in Korie Rogers and Adam Choice headline a bunch of five,  four-star recruits who have committed to the Tigers but have not signed their letters of intent.

The Miami Hurricanes could eventually rise above Clemson but their failure to get a letter of intent signed by a single prospect sees them third on the list.  Aside from the aforementioned five-star Thomas,  the Hurricanes have commitments from eight,  four-star recruits.  The cream of the crop is Joseph Yearby.  At 5’9”,  Yearby is considered by rivals.com as the ninth best running back in the nation and eighth best player from the state of Florida.  Defensive tackle Anthony Moten and offensive tackle Kc McDermott also support a potentially very strong class.
