Offensive Line
Center Jonotthan Harrison and right guard Jon Halapio are both entering the 2014 NFL Draft as Seniors. Harrison’s slot will be tougher to fill than any other position on the roster. There is not another “true” center on the roster and Harrison’s backup this year was a senior left tackle. Based on speculation, sophomore Cameron Dillard could be moved to center or freshman Travaris Dorsey could make the change as well and be thrown directly into the fire. Either way, there will be inexperience at the position.
In terms of replacing Halapio, sophomore Octavius Jackson is the most likely “true” guard to take his throne, but there are a number of tackles that could make a transition to guard.
Offensive Skill Players
Speedster Solomon Patton will be replaced by his predecessor. Pre-injury, Andre Debose played his role, but with Debose healthy after an ACL injury that held him out of last season, there are no worries about filling the position.
Trey Burton played an odd “do-it-all” role, but with new offensive coordinator Kurt Roper, that may change. His style will call for another true receiver instead. Sophomore Ahmad Fulwood, who flashed when given the opportunity last season, or sophomore Demarcus Robinson could assume the new role and make an impact.
Defensive Line
Although he has technically already been replaced since he was injured for the latter half of the year, Dominique Easley’s disruptive presence will be missed. Damien Jacobs assumed his role, but he will not be returning in 2014 being that he was a senior this season. Senior Darious Cummings and Leon Orr will be Florida’s tandem at defensive tackle.
Defensive Back
Florida is losing three defensive backs, two of which are underclassmen. Jaylen Watkins, who transitioned to safety this year, Marcus Roberson, and Loucheiz Purifoy will not be returning. Thus, stud sophomore Vernon Hargreaves III will become a full time starter. Behind Hargreaves III, the next men up are junior Brian Poole, who played well in the nickel last year and is likely to stay there, and sophomore Nick Washington. Although, keep an eye out for incoming freshman Jalen Tabor. Tabor is a five-star recruit that may be able to have an immediate impact, as Hargreaves III did.
In relief of Jaylen Watkins, redshirt sophomore Marcus Maye will take the full time job. When given the chance, Maye flashed impressive ability. He is next in line to become a star safety at Florida.
