American Stacy Lewis Leads Omega Dubai Ladies Masters

Stacy Lewis continues to dominate leaderboards anytime she tees it up. Lewis is making an appearance on the Ladies European Tour this week in the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters and at nine-under par holds the 36-hole lead.

Pernilla Lindberg and Carlota Ciganda shot matching five-under par 67’s to hold the lead after the first round at the par-72 Emirates Golf Club. Lindberg shot a second round three-under par 69 and fell to second place. Ciganda’s two-under par 70 put her one more shot back at seven-under par.

Lewis trailed the leaders by three shots after the first round on Thursday. Her second round seven-under par 65, included eight birdies and one bogey. She has a two-day combined score of nine-under par, which gives her a one-shot lead heading into the third round.

Lewis is seeking her fourth win of the year. She had three wins on the LPGA Tour including her second career major title at the Ricoh Women’s Open Championship in August.

Lewis is ranked No. 3 on the Rolex Rankings and finished third on the 2013 LPGA Tour money list with $1.9 million in total earnings. She had 19 top-10 finishes and won the Vare Trophy with the lowest average score on the 2013 LPGA Tour.

Teenager Charley Hull and LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year runner-up Caroline Masson are in a group at three-under par and tied for fifth place.

Omega Dubai Ladies Masters defending champion, Shanshan Feng is eight shots behind the leader at one-under par.
