The Cox Classic presented by Lexus of Omaha was the last regular season event on the Web.com Tour and 25 professional golfers were awarded 2014 PGA Tour cards.
Bronson La’Cassie won the Cox Classic in a playoff over Matt Bettencourt. The Australian played in 19 events on the Web.com this season and missed nine cuts. This win though moves him up to No. 6 on the Web.com money list and earns him a 2014 PGA Tour card.
Runner-up Bettencourt has been a professional golfer since 2002. He won twice on the Web.com Tour in 2008 and earned his PGA Tour card. His lone win on the PGA Tour came at the 2010 Reno-Tahoe Open. He struggled in 2012 missing 14 cuts in 32 appearances.
He played a split schedule in 2013. Nine tournaments on the PGA Tour yielded one top-25 finish, six made cuts and $101,000. The Web.com Tour has given Bettencourt a steady job and chance to rediscover his golf game.
He has three top-10 finishes in his last four starts on the Web.com and finished inside The 25 to earn his 2014 PGA Tour card.
Michael Putnam, on the strength of his two wins and eight top-10 finishes on the Web.com this season, captured the No. 1 spot on The 25. As an award for his solid play all season, he also earns an exemption into the 2014 Players Championship.

The biggest disappointment belongs to Patrick Cantlay. He was ranked as high as No. 1 on the Web.com Tour early in the season, but an injury prevented him from competing, and he dropped to No. 29.
Cantlay will play in the Web.com Tour Finals and has another chance to win one of the 25 PGA Tour cards that will be issued at the end of the Web.com Tour Championship.
The Web.com Tour now moves to Ft. Wayne, Indiana for the inaugural Hotel Fitness Championship for the first stop in the final four tournaments now known as the Web.com Tour Finals.
The best 75 players from the Web.com Tour will be joined by PGA Tour players ranked No. 126-200 in the Web.com Tour Finals for a chance to win an additional 25 PGA Tour cards.
Some familiar names will play in the Web.com Tour Finals. Ricky Barnes and Bud Cauley have committed to play in the series. Former Masters Champions, Trevor Immelman and Mike Weir will also try for the extra tour cards.
The Web.com Tour Finals should provide great drama as 150 professionals compete for the 25 PGA Tour cards and one more chance to earn a spot on the PGA Tour.
With the Q-School only offering playing privileges on the Web.com Tour the Web.com tour is now the only path to the PGA Tour.
