The LPGA Tour makes a new stop this week at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It is just one of several new events for 2013 on the LPGA Tour.
The Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic will be held for the first time on the Ocean Club Golf Course at the Atlantis Resort. The four-day 72-hole tournament offers a $1.3 million purse.
144 players will compete over the 6,644 yard par-73 Ocean Club Course for the $195,000 first place check.
The field will include all of the top players on tour and every one of the winners from 2013 will be in attendance.
LPGA Tour members are also becoming very aware of their positions in the rankings for the 13th Solheim Cup team. The Solheim Cup is a biennial competition between teams from the USA and Europe. It will be held August 16-18 at the Colorado Golf Club just outside of Denver.

The No. 2 Rolex Ranked player, Stacy Lewis leads the LPGA in scoring average at 69.23 and has finished inside the top-10 in 80% of the tournaments she has entered in 2013.
Inbee Park has won three tournaments in 2013 and leads the Rolex Rankings and the LPGA Tour money list.
Suzann Pettersen will return to action this week in the Bahamas. She has finished, tied third, won, third and second over her last four starts. She has moved to No. 3 on the Rolex Rankings and on the LPGA money list.
Young players, Lexi Thompson, Jessica Korda, Lizette Salas and Ariya Jutanugarn have all been headlining LPGA Tour leaderboards over the past few weeks.
