Stacy Lewis Wins Mizuno Classic In Japan Gets Closer to No. 1 Yani Tseng

Stacy Lewis won her fourth LPGA Tour event of the year at the Mizuno Classic in Japan. She was seven shots behind the leader Bo-Mee Lee at the start of the final round and fired an eight-under par 64 to get the trophy.

Ms. Lewis joined the LPGA in 2009 after graduation from the University of Arkansas. In addition to her four wins this year she won the 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship a major on the LPGA Tour.

Stacy Lewis remains No. 2 behind Inbee Park on the LPGA money list with $1.8 million in earnings in 2012. Yani Tseng with $1.4 million is in the fourth position on the money list.

World No. 1 Yani Tseng improved throughout the week at the Mizuno Classic. With rounds of 71-70-68 she finished solo fourth.  After winning three events early in 2012 she has struggled through the summer months. This was her third consecutive Top-5 finish.

Yani has been the No. 1 ranked player on the Rolex Rankings for 90 weeks but the gap between she and No. 2 Stacy Lewis has narrowed dramatically.

The women now head to Guadalajara, Mexico for the Lorena Ochoa Invitational before the final event of the season the CME Group Titleholders in Naples, Florida.
