Two Tied for Lead in LPGA KEB-HanaBank Championship

Anna Nordqvist and Katherine Hull-Kirk share the lead at the LPGA KEB-HanaBank Championship in Incheon, South Korea.
They both shot matching 67-70 to get to seven-under par over the first two rounds.

Hull-Kirk, from Australia, made two bogies in her first round on Thursday, but offset those with seven birdies. Her second round was a bit more exciting. She made double-bogey at No. 9 and three other bogies to go along with five birdies and an eagle at No. 5.

She attended Pepperdine University and joined the LPGA in 2004. She has won twice on the LPGA Tour, twice on the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Tour and once on the Ladies European Tour.

Nordqvist, from Norway, was consistent with six birdies and a lone bogey in her first round. Her second round included two more bogies, but four birdies gave her the two-under par 70.

Nordqvist was a member of the successful 2013 European Solheim Cup team and has two wins on the LPGA Tour. Her first win came at the 2009 McDonald’s LPGA Championship, a major on the LPGA Tour. She also won the LPGA Tour Championship later that year.

World No. 2 Suzann Peterssen is in a group with Ju Young Pak and Amy Yang just one shot behind the leaders at six-under par.

Ten of the top-14 spots in the LPGA KEB-HanaBank Championship are held by South Koreans. Alison Walshie is the lone American in the top-11 two shots behind the leaders at five-under par.

Brittany Linciccome, Jessica Korda, So Yeon Ryu, Giulia Sergas, Jane Park, Michelle Wie and Caroline Hedwall are all tied for 15th at two-under par.

Inbee Park and Na Yeon Choi are both one-under par in a group at T-22.

Last week’s winner Lexi Thompson is T-28 at one-over par and in a group that includes Yani Tseng and Cristie Kerr.

The final two rounds of the KEB-HanaBank Championship can be seen on the Golf Channel both Saturday, Oct. 19, and Sunday, Oct. 20, at 11:00 AM-2:00 PM ET.
