The United States holds a 11.5-6.5 lead heading into the singles matches on Sunday at the Presidents Cup.
The big story for the week, however, is the persistent rain that has soaked Muirfield Village and delayed play on numerous occasions.
Play had to be delayed on Thursday due to inclement weather, but all of the matches were able to finish before darkness fell.
Only two of six foursome matches could be completed on Friday as heavy rains with lightning rolled through the Dublin, Ohio area.
When play resumed at 7:35 AM on Saturday the teams split the session 3-3 with Team USA maintaining a 6.5-5.5 lead.
The teams immediately began third-round play with five four-ball matches.
International team captain Nick Price held out Richard Sterne and Marc Leishman in the Saturday morning session. American captain Fred Couples rested Zach Johnson and Jason Dufner.
Team USA won four of the five four-ball matches and took a commanding 10.5-6.5 point lead.
Four-ball rewards aggressive play and birdies were as numerous as the rain drops falling on Muirfield Village. The best players in the world were able to fire laser iron shots directly at the pins on the defenseless Muirfield Village golf course.
Intermittent rains continued to fall throughout Saturday morning. Rain disrupted play again and the afternoon foursome matches could not be completed.
Zach Johnson/Jason Dufner defeated Richard Sterne/Branden Grace on Saturday afternoon in the only foursome match to reach a conclusion.
When play was halted for the day the U.S. led one match, the Internationals led in two matches and one match was tied.
Play will resume at 7:35 AM on Sunday to complete the foursomes and the singles matches will go off as soon as possible.
Tiger Woods and Matt Kuchar have teamed together through the first three sessions to post a perfect 3-0 record. All 12 members of Team USA have at least one point at the end of play Saturday evening.
Jason Day and Canadian Graham DeLaet lead the International team with 2-1 records.
The play has been stellar thus far in the Presidents Cup and the numerous rain delays are very unfortunate for the fans and players alike.
