After missing the past three weeks with a sprain in his throwing shoulder, young Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Sean Manaea will be on the bump here soon. The team activated him from the 10-day disabled list and he will return to the rotation against the Seattle Mariners on Monday.
Manaea, 25, struggled to a 1-2 start with a 5.18 ERA in his first five starts.
The youngster has been an intriguing fantasy option due to his ability to strikeout the opposing hitter. As a rookie last season, Manaea recorded 124 Ks in 144.1 innings. This season, he has recorded more than a strikeout per inning.
It will be interesting to see how Manaea returns and whether he shows more consistency on the mound than before the injury.
