And that’s all folks! The 2013 fantasy baseball regular season has just came to a conclusion. The faith of your team lied in the hands of your best players but also some surprise guys that put your team over the top. Below is the three biggest surprises of the final week of regular season fantasy baseball.
Salvador Perez, Catcher, Kansas City Royals
The 23 year-old catcher for the Royals had himself a week to remember. His four home runs and 11 RBIs put him at the top of the list of major league players over the past seven days. He also batted a modest .417 with an OBP of .444. With the lack of catchers available in fantasy baseball it wouldn’t hurt you to pick this guy up. He could really help your team out over the next four weeks of the playoffs.
Brandon Moss, First Basemen, Oakland Athletics
The Athletics have won five of seven games and some of the reason for that is how well Moss has played over the past week. His ten RBIs trailed only Perez and Shane Victorino of all men in the majors. His .348 batting average is good but his OBP was even better at .464. This guy is owned in about 90 percent of leagues so the chance that you can pick him up is relatively low but he would be a nice addition to any team. He plays outfield and first base so you can use him in several roster spots.
Dustin Ackley, Second Basemen, Seattle Mariners
The Mariners have had another to go of things this year and are looking at missing the playoffs once again. The one positive for the week for this team was the play of their second basemen. His .462 batting average ranked among the top ten along with RBIs as he hit eight of those. He put up a .481 OBP and even hit two home runs. This might not be the guy to pick up as he is not super efficient but if you are really struggling at the second base spot you could take this risk here.
