The hits just seem to keep coming for pitchers. After a seemingly endless numbers of bad news for major league pitchers, another name joins the long list on the disabled list. Chicago White Sox reliever Nate Jones is headed for an extended absence with elbow neuritis. Given Jones' history of elbow injuries, this very well could be a long absence.

It could have come at a better time for the White Sox. While this team is rebuilding and wins don't really matter, a shallower bullpen and a prolonged absence of their set up man means it's harder to find a future replacement for closer David Robertson. Even while Robertson is in town as they await the right offer coming along to get a deal done, now they must re-evaluate the situation some.

The 31-year-old Jones was off to a strong start this season with a 2.31 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 11 2/3 innings. He showed the stuff to be a fill-in closer when Robertson eventually got shipped off, but now that is in doubt. No update has been issued on how long Jones will be out, but expect it to be a lengthy absence. Whoever takes his role in Chicago's bullpen is off the fantasy radar.
