American League Cy Young favorite Chris Sale continued his dominating first season with the Boston Red Sox Tuesday evening, striking out 13 Tampa Bay Rays batters in a 2-0 Red Sox win.
In all, Sale went eight full innings. He struck out those 13 batters, giving up just two hits and walking zero batters in the process.
Thus far on the season, Sale has now pitched to a 14-4 record with a 2.57 ERA and 0.88 WHIP. He's also struck out an absurd 229 batters in 161.1 innings while walking just 29. That's just ridiculous.
At this point, Sale remains an elite DFS play every single time he talks to the bump. In 23 starts this season, the veteran has struck out 10-plus batters 15 times while fanning nine or more a total of 19 times. He's also yielded two earned runs or less a total of 14 times.
