After a delayed start to the 2016 season, Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley was just happy to return on April 25 after undergoing offseason surgery on his right shoulder. But after struggling at the plate and dealing with more soreness, Brantley has again been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder fatigue.
Brantley had misses the past three games with lingering shoulder soreness and he wasn't looking to be at his best at the plate this season. Through 39 games, Brantley was slashing .231/.279/.282 with zero home runs, a far drop off from his .310/.379/.480 season in 2015.
While it's unknown the extent of Brantley's shoulder soreness, it is a bit concerning that he is going back on the disabled list for the same shoulder he had surgery on. The hope now is just that it's a precaution and with some time off, he can come back and perform at this normal level.
