The Chicago Cubs are reportedly demoting outfielder Kyle Schwarber to Triple-A Iowa after he got off to a horrible start to the 2017 season.
The 24-year-old outfielder is hitting .171 with 12 homers and 28 RBI on the season. He's also struck out 75 times in 225 at-bats. The homer numbers are there. But outside of that, the Schwarber has done next to nothing.
It's likely a short-term demotion to get the youngster's bat back on track. Schwarber has one hit in his past 14 at-bats.
