A large part of his success has bene his ability to handle righties better than lefties. Left handed pitchers can generally shut down left handed hitters but righties generally have the edge. That is not the case with Pomeranz as righties are only hitting .177 off him this season with seven homeruns, and 22 RBI. Pomeranz is striking out over a batter per inning and has high upside tonight against a Dodgers team that struggles to hit lefties.
