My Value Plays
Pitcher
Josh Collmenter, Diamondbacks, $6,800: Collmenter has been the one pitcher that the Diamondbacks have been able to rely on all season long. He was roughed up three starts ago against the Dodgers but has been relatively good all season long otherwise. Now gets to face the Padres and there just awful offense which was just no hit by Tim Lincecum. While Collmenter is likely to throw a no a hitter anything less than a quality start would be a disappointment.
Catcher
Stephen Vogt, Athletics, $2,600: On a team full of good hitters Vogt has really gone under the radar while putting together a quality season. In his limited time he is batting over .300 with a couple of homeruns and 11 RBI. For the price you can’t find much better value at the catcher position.
First Base
Adrian Gonzalez, Dodgers, $3,100: After a rough stretch that saw Gonzalez’s average drop below the .250 mark his batting is once again starting to show life. Gonzalez just saw a stretch of seven straight games with an RBI come to an end. He has been one of the best first baseman for many years and is always worth a start when he is locked in at the plate even if he isn’t the same hitter he was in San Diego.
Second Base
Omar Infante, Royals, $2,900: Infante isn’t exactly locked in at the plate right now as even though he has a five game hitting streak he has only recorded one hit in each of those games. He has still managed to be productive though as he has two steals during those five games and one homerun which was a grand slam. Infante gets to see a lefty in the likes of Hector Santiago who has struggled mightily this year so the odds are in his favor to see his hitting streak go to six games.
Third Base
Ryan Zimmerman, Nationals, $3,100: Zimmerman is starting to look a little more comfortable at the plate recently with a homeruns three RBI and two runs scored in his last four games. He also gets what should be an easy matchup against Dallas Beeler who is making his major league debut but owns an ERA over four in the minors this season.
Short Stop
Asdrubal Cabrera, Indians, $3,300: Always a shortstop known more for his defense than his bat Cabrera does have some pop in his bat and locked in at the plate right now. Since June 13th Cabrera is batting .313 with two homeruns, with nine RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base. When you are looking at shortstops there aren’t a ton of great hitting ones so when you can find a cheap option that is hot at the plate that is generally the way to go making Cabrera a great choice today.
Outfield
Josh Hamilton, Angels, $3,500: Hamilton has actually hit the bell well since coming off of the disabled list which is what makes his salary cap number so surprising to me. He has hit safely in nine of his last twelve games which includes five runs scored and six RBI. The matchup is not going to be an easy one against Yordano Ventura but Hamilton feasts off of right handed pitching and for the price it is hard to pass up on him.

Don't forget to check your lineup before each game to make sure that everyone in your lineup is starting. The last thing you want is a zero spot in your lineup costing yourself money.
