Fantasy Baseball Daily - September 15, 2014

We bring you fantasy daily picks for FanDuel.com and if you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to follow this link http://eDraft.com/FanDuel/MLB to receive a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit.  This is an amazing deal that you can’t miss so be sure to check it out and make yourself some extra cash.  The cap for FanDuel is $35,000 with only one player at each position like a real MLB lineup (with the exception of outfielders where you can start any three players that are outfield eligible.)

The scoring system for FanDuel is as follows:

Hitters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,
Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt

Good Value Players

Pitcher

Alfredo Simon, Reds, $6,700: Simon struck out five and walked three while giving up two runs on five hits over seven innings to earn his 14th win of the season against the Cards on Wednesday. While Simon has struggled in recent weeks, the Reds are still believed to be considering him for a rotation spot again in 2015. The start against the Cards -- a club pursuing another NL Central crown -- was impressive Wednesday, and he'll take his next two turns on the road against the Cubs on today before another matchup with St. Louis on September 21.

Catcher

Buster Posey, Giants, $3,500: Posey was 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in San Francisco's win over the Nationals on Friday night. He seems to have eliminated any concerns over his hip injury, collecting six hits over his past two games. Posey has 15 home runs and 61 RBI with a rising .286 average as he continues his productive second half so the Giants will hope he can stay healthy down the stretch.

First Base

Kennys Vargas, Twins, $3,400: Vargas went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Sunday's loss to Detroit. Vargas has been tremendous since getting promoted to the big leagues, and has been especially hot over his last nine games. In that span, the slugger has gone 16-for-39 (.410) with two homers, six doubles, and 11 RBI. Vargas is slashing an excellent .337/.369/.537 on the year.

Second Base

Dee Gordon, Dodgers, $3,100: Gordon went 3-for-5 with one run scored and one RBI against the Mets on Friday night. The success of Gordon (.289/.334/.383) this season at the top of the order is one of the main reasons the Dodgers are contending for a division title. With 70 runs and 57 stolen bases, Gordon remains one of the league best lead-off hitters. He just needs to learn how to work the count a bit more and snag some walks from time-to-time.

Third Base

Martin Prado, Yankees, $3,100: Prado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the Yankees' 8-1 victory Monday night. Prado hasn't missed a beat since joining the Yankees at the trading deadline. The veteran has hit .417 over his last nine games and now has three homers as a member of the Yankees. For the season Prado is up to nine home runs to go with his .272 batting average.

Shortstop

Erick Aybar, Angels, $2,800: Aybar went 3-for-4 in a loss to the Marlins on Monday, extending his hitting streak to 10 games. Aybar has been on an impressive run of late, as he has now recorded five consecutive multi-hit games, stealing two bases over that span. He has just two doubles and no home runs during the course of the entire streak, but could be worth a look at a shallow position while he is red hot.

Outfield

Austin Jackson, Mariners, $3,100: Jackson was 1-for-4 with a walk and two RBI in Seattle's win over Boston on Friday night. The Mariners loaded the bases with two outs in ninth, trailing 3-0, and Jackson lined a double off of the Green Monster to ignite a rally that would culminate in five runs and a Seattle victory. Now in the midst of a playoff run, this is the type of performance that can fire up both a player and all of his teammates.
