Fantasy Baseball Playoffs: Top Two-Start Pitchers

Since the playoffs of fantasy baseball have started it is only right that we look at the best two start pitchers in the game that you should be starting in your league. A two start pitcher is a guy who has two outings in one week, giving your team a better chance at receiving more wins along with strikeouts. The names on this list will be for the 24th week of the season which is also the second round of baseball playoffs.

Clayton Kershaw,  Starting Pitcher, Los Angeles Dodgers

The most obvious pick for this would have to be Kershaw. He has made it very clear that he is the best pitcher in the league and he is only 25 years-old. His next start will be Sunday against the Reds so this game will hold a lot of merit. Both of these teams look like they will be playing in October and are trying to fine tune up for the big month to come. The Reds are in need of wins far more than the Dodgers but you can guarantee that Kershaw will be in full out attack mode. His last outing against the Reds he went eight innings pitched, allowing only one earned run and striking out eight. His next start will be on Friday night where he will face the struggling San Francisco Giants.

Alex Wood,  Starting Pitcher, Atlanta Braves

Wood is currently owned in only about 30 percent of leagues so the chance of you picking him up is very fair. He has pitched one of the best months of any rookie pitcher in recent memory but then had a bit of a speed bump against the Marlins in his first September start. In five starts in August, Wood recorded an ERA of 0.90 which is the lowest of any rookie pitchers in the month of August. In those five starts he won two of them and received a no-decision in the other three. He also struck out 28 men over this time and has looked amazing on the bump. Pick this guy up and ride him to the championship.

Jose Fernandez,  Starting Pitcher, Miami Marlins

I have not like a pitcher so much since the last time John Smoltz was still in Atlanta. This guy has fun on the field and is good at what he does. He has dominated since the day he joined the team, a story which is great in itself. When he found out that he was being called up he was at a local mall and went out to his career and cried. This guy wants to be here as bad as anyone and is showing his staying power as we speak. It does not matter who he faces because of how nasty all of his stuff is. The last time he got beat was against the Braves and he recorded a triple and the only run scored for the Marlins. In his last start against the Nationals he went 7.1 innings while giving up only one run and striking out nine. This guy is the real deal and is my pick for the Rookie of the Year award. He has better character than Yasiel Puig and has far more skill.
