The Houston Astros have reportedly signed outfielder Josh Reddick to a four-year, $52 million contract. Reddick, 29, split time between the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers last season, posting a combined 10 homers and 37 RBI while tallying a .345 on-base percentage.
Reddick, a veteran of the American League West, put up his best season with the A's back in 2012 when he hit 32 homers and 85 RBI while earning the Gold Glove award.
From a fantasy perspective, the veteran is a decent DFS play against right-handed pitchers. Last season alone, the lefty hit .322 with an .871 OPS against pitchers that towed that side of the rubber.
Moreover, Reddick is just a career .194 hitter in 31 games at Houston's Minute Maid Park. At least, the reality of the situation here is that the outfielder is only a viable play when on the road and facing right-handed pitchers. With a career .400 average in Baltimore and .333 mark in Toronto, those are two stadiums you should look at for him heading into the 2017 season.
