The Los Angeles Dodgers placed starting pitcher Kenta Maeda on the disabled list Thursday evening with that the team is describing as a hamstring injury. This came after he pitched into the ninth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has indicated that Maeda suffered the injury hamstring a "few weeks back," which is also a surprising development here.
The veteran had struggled out of the gate, posting a 3-2 record with a five-plus ERA in seven starts. Maybe the hamstring had something to do with these struggles.
