The Los Angeles Angels on Monday placed young starting pitcher Alex Meyer on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.
It is somewhat intriguing as to how Meyer suffered the injury. He yielded just one hit over seven shutout innings against the Washington Nationals in his last start in Wednesday. He definitely didn't show any signs of injury.
The 27-year-old starter has pitched to a 4-5 mark with a 3.74 ERA in 13 starts this season. He's also struck out 75 batters in 67.1 innings. Though, command has been an issue with his 44 walks and 1.34 WHIP.
