A 19-14 record is not only impressive, but when you are in the same division as the defending World Series Champions, it says something about the talent on your team. The Colorado Rockies are doing something right.
Starting with the pitchers, the Rockies do not have a lot to worry about. Jorge De La Rosa is pitching with a 3.52 ERA, which may seem high, but he has been throwing shutout frames, and 21 strikeouts under his belt. Rafael Jose Betancourt throws smoke and has an ERA of 2.70 to prove it. Edgmer Escalona has also been averaging almost a strikeout per inning pitched and even has a punch-out to Evan Longoria himself under his belt.
Hitting on the Rockies has been hotter than the weather in Colorado. Michael Cuddyer has been pretty filthy in the box with a .319 batting average, and seven homeruns. Slugger Carlos Gonzalez has a .342 average with 17 bombs and 18 RBI’s. Finally, Wilin Rosario is hitting a strong .297 with 30 hits, seven homeruns, and 19 RBI’s.
Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is back this week after being out due to leg tightness. The rest hopefully benefited him and will make fantasy owners happy.
Believe in this team. They are in the same division as the Giants, and if it’s one team that can take San Francisco, it’s the Rockies.
