The Miami Marlins and third baseman Martin Prado hoped one stint on the disabled list for his strained right hamstring would be enough. Unfortunately, the tightness in his hamstring returned on Sunday and the Marlins promptly placed him on the disabled list.
Prado, 33, missed Miami's first 12 games of the season with the same hamstring strain. When he returned, the Marlins tried to play it cautiously with their third baseman. He managed to play in 17 games before the hamstring tightened up again and now may play it slowly with Prado's next return when he is cleared to start running and play rehab games.
So far this season, Prado posted a .290/.315/.406 slash line in 69 at bats with a .721 OPS, two home runs and six RBIs. With an open roster spot, Miami called up infielder J.T. Riddle. Fantasy owners can keep RIddle on the waiver wire, he's not worth adding in even the deepest of leagues.
