Today was a rather slow day in baseball, especially considering the big moves made yesterday such as the monstrous signing of Giancarlo Stanton, and the A’s singing Billy Butler. For the most part the only moves that were made today were selecting contract of major league players or designating players for assignment.
There are still some trade rumors circulating though, particularly around the Braves. Rumors are still circulating around two of the Braves bigger sluggers Justin Upton, and Evan Gattis. The Mariners are being linked to talking to the Braves about at least one of the sluggers to bolster a lineup that could use some pop outside of Robinson Cano and Kyle Seager.
Another rumor that continues to circulate is the White Sox trading their all star shortstop Alexei Ramirez. He is due ten million next season as well as in 2016 so if the White Sox are expecting something good in terms of prospects they will have to eat some of that money or the other team will pay most of the contract to hold onto their prospects.
Not much to talk about today but with all of the trade rumors floating around and free agents still to be signed, any day could involve a major move.
