In the ninth week of the season we had some big name guys who have been slumping start to hit the ball. This list of players includes two AL players and one NL player.
Jason Castro, Catcher, Houston Astros
Of the three men to make this list Castro is the least known. He is the catcher for the Astros, so that explains why he is unheard of. He had a great batting average this week, hitting half of everything that was thrown to him. In 22 at-bats he recorded 11 hits, while managing to hit three home runs with five RBIs. He got walked four times on the week and struck out four times. He has been doing surprisingly well this year with a season batting average of .283. Once again, if you have a struggling catcher it might not hurt to pick this guy up.
Domonic Brown, Left Fielder, Philadelphia Phillies
A lot of Phillies fans expected Brown to be the future and to this point has done just that. He is batting .272 on the season and has done even better this week. In fact, he had arguably the greatest week of his career as he hit seven home runs in as many games. To go with those seven home runs is 11 RBIs and a .370 batting average. He is proven to be a great outfield commodity for any fantasy team and will continue making owners happy as he has 15 home runs on the year.
James Loney, First Basemen, Tampa Bay Rays
Once owned in almost all leagues, Loney has dropped off quite quickly. This week has been a whole different story though as he has hit four home runs and drove in six runs. His batting average has been great on the year as he is 15th overall but this week only batted .250. He is only owned in about 50 percent of leagues which is odd because of the high batting average. He hit two home runs yesterday and if he keeps playing like he is, he will be owned in nearly every league.
