Another day brings more pitchers landing on the disabled list. In this edition, it's Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon landing on the DL with groin discomfort.
Taillon was scheduled to start on Monday, but now will give up the start to Trevor Williams. Of larger concern for fantasy owners is how long Taillon will be sidelined. Pittsburgh didn't reveal the severity of the soreness or if Taillon would undergo an MRI.
For now, we'll have to operate under the idea that Tailon will miss at least the next two starts. It's especially unfortunate given how well the 25-year-old has performed this season. Before his last start, where he allowed six runs in five innings, Taillon held a 2.08 ERA through fivwe starts and really did a great job keeping the ball in the yard.
Williams is off the fantasy radar, even in DFS or deep leagues where spot starts can sometimes carry some nice value. When a further update on Taillon becomes available, we'll update you.
