Having played in a grand total of 39 games since his All-Star 2014 campaign, Cincinnati Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco has been activated off the disabled list and will make his season debut some time this week.
The veteran backstop has been dealing with continual shoulder and hip injuries since breaking on to the scene back in 2014 with 25 homers and 80 RBI.
Cincinnati currently has weak-hitting Tucker Barnhart manning the catcher position, so there's a chance Mesoraco could see some real action. Though, he's not going to be an every-day player until the catcher proves he can handle it. Such is the nature of the beast when you play in 39 games over a two-year span.
