The 2013 offseason is under way and a lot of moves have already been made. Of course we are all well aware of the Prince Fielder and Ian Kinsler trade, along with the David Freese for Peter Bourjos trade. Those trades have definitely been the centerpiece of this offseason. As the offseason progresses more and more trades will be made until teams are finally set for the 2014 season. Below are some potential trades that could take place within the next few weeks.

Matt Kemp to the Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays have proved that they are not shy about spending their money after their 2012 offseason and they seem to be scheming for another big name. Matt Kemp is at the top of their list and they are reportedly very interested in trading for him. For whatever reason Kemp has been at the center of trade rumors for the past month now and those rumors don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Although any trade involving Kemp is very intriguing there is still not enough information here to say whether or not this could really happen. Other teams interested in Kemp are the Texas Rangers and the Boston Red Sox.

David Price to the Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves showed in the 2013 playoffs that they need a legitimate number one, “ace” pitcher. Frank Wren is also very aware of this and the rumors have been swirling that Price may be making his way to the A. Price’s contract will be up at the end of the 2014 season and the Rays are smart enough to know that they can’t afford to keep him. The Braves would have to offer a good number two pitcher, likely Kris Medlen along with some prospects. If the Braves do not deal for him don’t be surprised if another team like the Texas Rangers or Washington Nationals go after the stud pitcher.

Austin Jackson to be traded

There is no exact team that might go after Jackson but the Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski is open to offers. If he were to be traded one suitor that would make sense is the Seattle Mariners. They have a whole lot of money to spend and only have long term contracts with Felix Hernandez so the possibilities for this team are endless. Another team that could go after him is the New York Mets. The Mets have been in dire need of outfielders and Jackson would fit perfectly.

Dan Uggla to the Miami Marlins

Here we have a trade that could happen that would favor both teams. The Atlanta Braves are sick and tired of Uggla and the Marlins would love to have a huge fan favorite back in Miami. Uggla was playing for the Marlins from 2006 till 2010. His lack of production is going to be a very negative in all of this but he could bring some more fans into the stadium and the Marlins need all the fans they can get right now.
