Athletics at Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles look to complete a six-game homestand in style when they meet the Oakland Athletics on Sunday. Baltimore is 4-1 on the homestand after routing Oakland 10-1 on Saturday and moved into a first-place tie in the American League East with the Tampa Bay Rays. Baltimore (13-8) hasn’t been more than five games over .500 since July 20, 2005. Oakland has scored 64 runs, the fewest in franchise history through 22 games.

Baltimore matched a season high for runs scored Saturday and corner infielder Chris Davis homered for the third time in four games. Davis, Adam Jones and Robert Andino all had three hits. The loss was Oakland’s worst of the season and it snapped a three-game winning streak. It was the seventh time already this season that the Athletics scored one run or less. Oakland (11-11) is tied for second in the AL West with the Seattle Mariners.
