Lohse has delivered 10 quality starts in 15 outings this season, and has gone at least seven innings in three straight starts. He’s walked just 15 batters in 94 2/3 innings. Batters are hitting .250 against him. Lohse beat the Marlins in the 2012 season opener, allowing one run on two hits in 7 1/3 innings. He’s 3-2 with a 4.99 ERA in his career against the Marlins.
Zambrano is 12-6 with a 3.40 ERA in 31 career appearances against St. Louis, and batters are hitting .224 against him. He has struggled at home this season, going 1-3 with a 6.12 ERA. The Marlins have lost Zambrano’s last three starts. He’s allowed 14 earned runs and walked 13 batters in that span of 9 1/3 innings.
