Giants at Brewers

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey is two days away from the one-year anniversary of the horrific collision at home plate that left him with a broken leg and torn ligaments in his ankle. Posey is showing that the injury is behind him, hitting a home run and driving in three runs in back-to-back games for the Giants, who will go for a three-game sweep of the host Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday afternoon. Posey has driven in 10 runs during a six-game RBI streak but he is expected to sit out the series finale, his normal routine for a day game following a night contest.

Milwaukee has dropped six of its last seven games to fall a season-worst nine games below .500. The Brewers also dipped to 10-13 at home and are more than halfway to last year's loss total at Miller Park, when they were a major league-best 57-24.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants LH Barry Zito (3-1, 3.00 ERA) vs. Brewers RH Marco Estrada (0-3, 4.63 ERA)

Zito is giving the Giants a little more bang for their buck in Year 6 of his seven-year, $126 million contract. He won his second straight start last time out despite allowing a season-high four runs in 5 1/3 innings vs. Oakland, and has been prone to wildness since his four-hit shutout against Colorado in his season debut. Ryan Braun is 5-for-13 with three homers and six RBIs against him

Estrada remains in search of his first win since moving into the starting rotation following a season-ending injury to Chris Narveson. He is 0-3 in five starts and has been hurt by the long ball, surrendering eight home runs in only 29 innings during that span. Milwaukee has sputtered offensively behind Estrada, scoring nine runs in his last four outings.

WALK-OFFS:

1. Giants CF Angel Pagan had his 11-game hitting streak snapped, but Melky Cabrera extended his to six games.

2. Braun has hit in 11 straight games and has a five-game RBI streak.

3. San Francisco has hit four homers in the first two games of the series after connecting for just five in the first 19 games this month.
