White Sox at Twins

The Minnesota Twins will attempt to keep the Chicago White Sox reeling on the road when the American League Central rivals square off at Target Field on Wednesday in the middle contest of their three-game series. Minnesota let a two-run lead slip away in the latter innings Tuesday before coming back to take the series opener. The Twins staged a two-out rally in the eighth, with Ryan Doumit delivering a two-run double to snap a 5-5 tie.

The victory improved Minnesota to 4-3 on its nine-game homestand. It also extended Chicago's woes away from home, where it has lost 13 of its last 15 contests. The White Sox are a dismal 13-25 on the road, including a 1-4 mark on their current 10-game trip.

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox LH Chris Sale (5-5, 2.43 ERA) vs. Twins RH Kevin Correia (5-4, 3.97)

Sale has lost three consecutive starts, including a 2-1 setback at Houston on Friday in which he allowed two unearned runs and struck out a season-high 14 in eight innings. The 24-year-old has held opponents to fewer than three earned runs in eight of his last nine outings. Sale is 3-0 with a 0.90 ERA in three career starts against the Twins.

Correia has failed to record a decision in three straight starts and has just one victory in his last six outings. The 32-year-old limited the Philadelphia Phillies to one run on Thursday but exited after throwing 112 pitches in five innings. Correia lost his only career outing against the White Sox as he surrendered four runs and nine hits over seven frames on May 14.

2. Minnesota LF Josh Willingham went 1-for-4 in his return to the lineup after missing two games with a left knee injury.
