Cubs at Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers have enjoyed a huge advantage when the Chicago Cubs are in town, winning nine straight and 19 of 21 at home against their National League Central rivals. They'll try to continue that trend Wednesday when the teams resume their three-game series. Milwaukee moved one game clear of the last-place Cubs with a 9-3 win in the series opener on Tuesday and has won five of six meetings this season.

Chicago's woes at Miller Park are indicative of its 9-25 mark against the NL Central, the worst division record in the majors. The struggles within the division also have plagued Wednesday's starter Scott Feldman, who his 0-4 with a 6.65 ERA in four outings against NL Central opponents. The Brewers have won three of four and have belted eight home runs in their past six games.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs RH Scott Feldman (6-6, 3.39 ERA) vs. Brewers RH Yovani Gallardo (6-6, 4.09)

Feldman has alternated good and bad starts in four outings this month, and he's coming off a rough one at St. Louis in which he was tagged for five runs in 5 1/3 innings and matched a season high with four walks. Feldman is 1-1 with an 0.82 ERA in two starts against Milwaukee. He lost to the Brewers on April 21, but only one of the four runs he allowed over five innings was earned.

After a rough beginning to the season, Gallardo has not allowed an earned run in his last three starts - spanning 21 innings. His defense let him down last time out, as he allowed three unearned runs over seven innings and didn't factor in the decision in a loss at Houston. Gallardo is 7-2 with a 2.95 ERA in 14 starts against the Cubs, but he hasn't faced them this year.

WALK-OFFS

1. Milwaukee 2B Rickie Weeks went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs Tuesday and is 14-for-32 during a nine-game hitting streak.

2. Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez needs one hit to become the 15th active player with 2,000. Ramirez has never faced Feldman.

3. Cubs SS Starlin Castro, who had his NL-leading streak of 269 consecutive games played snapped on Tuesday, is 11-for-28 with three doubles against Gallardo.
