Mets at Diamondbacks

After having their winning streak halted Wednesday by Pittsburgh, the Arizona Diamonbacks got back in the saddle in the series opener against the New York Mets. Arizona seeks its seventh victory in eight contests when it continues its four-game set against visiting New York on Friday.

The Diamondbacks scored a whopping 51 runs during their five-game winning streak before falling 5-4 to the Pirates but rebounded with a 6-3 triumph on Thursday. David Peralta has been swinging a hot bat for Arizona, going 12-for-25 with four homers and nine RBIs during his six-game hitting streak after belting a pair of solo shots in the series opener. New York continues to slide in the wrong direction as it has lost three contests in a row and 11 of its last 12. The Mets registered only four hits on Thursday, but three were home runs as they scored fewer than four runs for the 10th consecutive game.
