Rockies at Rangers
The Texas Rangers turn to old friend Yovani Gallardo as they take on the visiting Colorado Rockies in the rubber match of a three-game set Sunday afternoon. Gallardo, who won 13 games with the Rangers in 2015, is back with his former team after signing a free-agent deal in April and making 10 starts in the minors.
His new team produced 10 hits in a 5-2 win over the Rockies in Saturday's matchup, snapping a seven-game losing streak. Adrian Beltre broke an eighth-inning tie with a two-run triple and the 39-year-old is 11-for-18 during a five-game hitting streak. He has never faced Colorado right-hander Jon Gray, who gets the nod in the series finale against Gallardo. The Rockies are losers of 11 of their last 15 and will hope for more from the top of their lineup, which saw the first four hitters combine to go 1-for-15 with four strikeouts in Saturday's loss.
