Edwin Jackson allowed three hits in shutout eight innings and Alex Rios had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Chicago White Sox to an 8-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday night.
Jackson struck out 10 and is 2-0 since being acquired from Arizona on July 30. The right-hander is 8-10 overall.
Rios had an RBI single in the fourth and belted a two-run homer in the eighth to lead Chicago's 14-hit attack. Juan Pierre, Paul Konerko, Carlos Quentin, A.J. Pierzynski and Mark Teahen had two hits apiece.
Jake Arrieta (4-6) allowed four runs and seven hits in four innings.
Quentin's RBI single gave the White Sox a 1-0 lead in the first. Omar Vizquel and Rios drew one-out walks before Vizquel scored on Quentin's two-out single.
Rios singled with one out in the third, stole second and scored on Konerko's single. Alexei Ramirez's two-out single scored Konerko.
The Sox added two in the fifth. Teahen's bases-loaded single scored a run. The other scored when Gordon Beckham hit into a bases-loaded double play.
