White Sox 12, Royals 6

Andruw Jones' grand slam highlighted a six-run sixth inning as the Chicago White Sox stormed back to beat the Kansas City Royals 12-6 on Sunday in the rubber match of the three-game series.

Kansas City jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning, but the White Sox hung around by posting a pair of runs in the first, third and fourth innings before opening up the game in the bottom of the sixth.

Paul Konerko continued his hot streak at the plate with three hits, including a pair of homers, while driving in five runs for the White Sox. He also scored three runs and now has 36 home runs and 105 RBIs this year.

Chicago's Sergio Santos picked up the win out of the bullpen while Philip Humber took the loss. He gave up four runs over 2 1/3 innings.

Lucas Harrell only lasted 3 1/3 innings for the White Sox after the rough first frame. He allowed nine hits and two home runs.

Sean O’Sullivan surrendered five runs on eight hits over just three innings of work for Kansas City.

Kansas City’s Billy Butler had three hits, including his 12th homer, while catcher Brayan Pena added his first dinger of the year. The Royals were 3-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base.
