Tigers 10, Blue Jays 4

Rick Porcello pitched seven strong innings and Ryan Raburn homered twice as the Detroit Tigers downed the Toronto Blue Jays 10-4 Sunday.

Miguel Cabrera added to his major league-leading total with his 107th RBI of the season and Casper Wells chipped in a three RBIs for the Tigers, who earned a split of the four-game set and the season series.

Porcello (7-11) secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season by allowing just two hits and one run while striking out four. The 21-year-old right-hander is 3-1 over his last five starts since an eight-start losing streak that spanned from the end of May to the beginning of August.

Cabrera got the offense going with a double in the first and Wells extended the advantage with a an RBI single in the fourth and a two-run double in the sixth off Toronto starter Marc Rzepczynski (1-3), who has surrendered a total of 12 earned runs in 13 innings over his last three outings.

Raburn did his damage against the Blue Jays’ bullpen, belting a solo shot in the seventh off Jesse Carlson and a three-run blast in the eighth off Brian Tallet.
