Edwin Encarnacion and Adam Lind homered Sunday, providing a fitting end to Toronto's season as the Blue Jays edged the Minnesota Twins 2-1 Sunday.
Encarnacion tied the game in the fifth inning with a solo shot, his 21st of the season and fifth in the last five games. Lind put the Jays ahead with his 23rd of the year in the seventh, giving Toronto 257 homers on the season – equaling the third-highest single-season total in major-league history.
Mark Rzepczynski (4-4) made sure the lead stood up, limiting the American League Central division champs to an unearned run on four hits over seven innings. The left-hander walked two and struck out six.
Shawn Camp worked a perfect ninth for his second save.
Nick Blackburn (10-12) was strong in defeat, charged with two runs on just three hits in seven innings of work with a walk and six Ks.
Trevor Plouffe had an RBI single to account for all the Minnesota offense as the Twins head into the playoffs with losses in eight of their last 10 games.
