Yankees 11, Blue Jays 5
Mark Teixeira and Jorge Posada each had four hits as New York pounded out 17 base knocks and five home runs in an 11-5 blasting of the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre Tuesday night.
Teixeira stroked an RBI single in the first to give New York a 1-0 lead. He added a solo homer in the third to increase the lead to 3-0 and his RBI total to 91 on the season.
New York scored four times in the third and fifth innings, eventually building an 11-1 lead. Derek Jeter, Curtis Granderson and Marcus Thames also homered for New York, which entered the game tied for the AL East lead with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Dustin Moseley (4-2) picked up the win going six innings allowing two runs on five hits.
Mark Rzepczynski (1-2) took the loss. He surrendered six runs in just three innings.
Vernon Wells and Adam Lind both had two hits and two RBIs for the Blue Jays.
