Diamondbacks 2, Brewers 1

Miguel Montero’s eighth-inning home run broke a 1-1 tie and propelled the Arizona Diamondbacks past the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 Tuesday night.

Montero hit the solo shot, his fifth of the season, off Milwaukee reliever Chris Capuano (1-2) to lead off the inning.

The solo blast made a winner out of Blaine Boyer (3-2) who pitched two innings of scoreless relief.

Milwaukee opened the scoring in the second with a solo home run by Alcides Escobar off Diamondbacks starter Barry Enright.

That was the only mistake Enright made, as he threw six innings, allowing just the one run on three hits and two walks.

Sam Demel worked around two Milwaukee hits to earn his first career save.

Arizona tied the game in the fifth on an RBI sacrifice fly by Justin Upton and the score stayed the same until Montero’s homer.

Milwaukee starter Manny Parra went 5 1/3 innings, allowing four hits, six walks and one run. He struck out six.
