Pirates 4, Diamondbacks 3
Neil Walker hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday, completing a three-game sweep.
Walker was 0-for-3 before connecting for a blast to deep center off of Arizona reliever Aaron Heilman. Jose Tabata came around to score on Walker's 12th homer of the season.
Pittsburgh has now won nine of its last 13 at home.
Arizona took a 3-1 lead in the top of the eighth on a solo homer by Ryan Roberts, but Heilman could not hold the lead.
Tabata grounded into a fielder’s choice to bring home Ronny Cedeno and that brought Walker to the plate. The second baseman came through, belting a 3-1 offering from Heilman over the wall in center.
Joel Hanrahan (4-1) got the last two outs in the eighth in relief of Zach Duke to pick up the win. Evan meek pitched a perfect ninth for his third save of the season.
Heilman (5-8) allowed three runs and three hits in 2/3 of an inning and took the loss.
