Braves 7, Marlins 6

Brian McCann capped a stunning ninth-inning rally with a two-out, walk-off home run to lift the Atlanta Braves to a dramatic 7-6 victory over the visiting Florida Marlins on Sunday.

McCann's needed a little help from the umpiring crew on his blast, which was originally ruled a double. It was overturned upon video review, giving McCann his 18th homer and Atlanta its major league-best 11th walk-off victory of the season.

Matt Diaz had tied the game earlier in the inning with a two-run, pinch-hit homer off Marlins closer Leo Nunez as the Braves erased a 6-1 deficit in the final two innings.

It was the third and fourth homers allowed by Nunez (4-3) in his last three outings and gave him eight blown saves on the year.

And it was sweet redemption for Atlanta, which had suffered its worst loss of the season when it blew a nine-run lead in a 12-10 loss at Colorado on Wednesday.

A two-run error by Marlins first baseman Gaby Sanchez with two out in the eighth opened the door for the Braves, who started the day with a two-game lead over Philadelphia atop the National League East.

Florida wasted a brilliant performance by starter Jim Johnson, who limited the Braves to one run on three hits in six innings. Hanley Ramirez belted a three-run home run off Braves starter Derek Lowe to stake the Marlins to a 3-0 lead before the Braves even took the field.

Eric Hinske singled, doubled and drove in two runs and Takashi Saito (2-3) worked a scoreless ninth for Atlanta.
