Brandon Phillips had three hits and three RBIs and Homer Bailey pitched seven solid innings as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 on Friday night for their first win at Dodger Stadium since 2006.
Phillips had a run-scoring single in the second inning and a two-run single in the fourth as Cincinnati won its seventh straight game while ending a 12-game losing skid at Dodger Stadium.
Bailey (3-2) allowed just one run and four hits while winning for the second straight time since coming off the disabled list. Bailey struck out six and walked two.
Arthur Rhodes pitched a perfect eighth and Francisco Cordero induced Casey Blake to hit into a game-ending double play for his 33rd save.
The Dodgers scored in the third when Ryan Theriot’s bunt single scored Jamey Carroll.
Los Angeles starter Carlos Monasterios (3-4) gave up three runs – one earned – and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings. Monasterios struck out six and walked one.
