Giants 16, Reds 5

Pablo Sandoval and Andres Torres had four RBIs apiece and four San Francisco players homered as the Giants trounced the Cincinnati Reds 16-5 on Tuesday night.

San Francisco had 18 hits while battering the Reds for the second straight night. The Giants have 27 runs and 35 hits while winning the first two games of the series.

Freddy Sanchez went 4-for-4 with a homer and scored four times for his second consecutive four-hit contest. Buster Posey, Juan Uribe and Sandoval also homered for the Giants.

Cincinnati pulled within 7-5 in the fifth on Brandon Phillips’ second homer of the game and Scott Rolen’s two-run blast before the Giants pulled away with three in their half of the fifth and six in the sixth.

Reds starter Travis Wood (4-2) had won four consecutive starts before being pounded by San Francisco. Wood allowed seven runs and seven hits in four innings.

San Francisco starter Jonathan Sanchez was pulled after giving up five runs in 4 1/3 innings. Reliever Santiago Casilla (5-2) was credited with the victory for throwing two shutout innings.
