Brewers 5, Rockies 4
Casey McGehee's RBI single in the top of the 10th inning was the difference in the Milwaukee Brewers' 5-4 triumph over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night.
With a runner on second base and one out in the 10th, McGehee swatted a single to shallow center that brought home Ryan Braun with the go-ahead run. The Brewers had a chance to build on the lead by loading the bases, but Huston Street induced Jonathan Lucroy to ground into a double play to end the threat.
Milwaukee closer John Axford (7-1), who worked out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth inning, finished things off with a scoreless 10th frame.
Street (2-4) took the loss, charged with a run on three hits with two walks over two innings of work.
Braun finished with three of the Brewers' 16 hits on the evening, while McGehee, Chris Dickerson, Rickie Weeks and Corey Hart added two hits apiece.
Todd Helton belted a two-run homer in defeat for the Rockies.
Milwaukee starter Chris Narveson lasted just five innings, charged with four runs on four hits with a walk and three strikeouts.
Colorado counterpart Esmil Rogers wasn't any better, surrendering four runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings. He walked one and struck out five.
