Giants 5, Rockies 2
Andres Torres led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a homer and Buster Posey added a two-run double as the host San Francisco Giants notched a 5-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night.
Torres’ 14th homer of the season was a high-trajectory fly ball off Rockies reliever Matt Belisle (6-5) that landed in the first row of the right-field seats. Posey doubled off the right-field wall five batters later.
Colorado’s Melvin Mora had tied the score in the top of the eighth with a two-out solo homer against Jeremy Affeldt (4-3).
Brian Wilson, who blew the save Monday, retired the side in order in the ninth for his 37th save in 41 opportunities.
Giants left-hander Madison Bumgarner gave up one run and five hits in six innings and also drove in San Francisco’s second run with a blistering fifth-inning double into the right-center field gap to break a 1-1 tie.
San Francisco’s other run against Colorado starter Esmil Rogers scored on a first-inning balk. Rogers gave up two runs and four hits in six innings.
Clint Barmes hit a second-inning sacrifice fly for the Rockies.
