Marlins 11, Mets 4
Logan Morrison's two-run double in the sixth inning capped a seven-run rally as the Florida Marlins erased an early four-run deficit en route to an 11-4 triumph over the New York Mets on Thursday.
Morrison scored three runs and Hanley Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three runs scored for the Marlins, who have won five of their last six road games.
David Wright gave the Mets an early lead with a two-run blast in the first inning and New York increased the advantage to 4-0 on an RBI double by Angel Pagan in the second and a run-scoring single by Jeff Francoeur a frame later.
Ramirez, who went 10-for-15 in the series, began Florida's comeback in the fourth with his 17th homer of the year and Dan Uggla ignited the sixth-inning outburst with an RBI double. Wes Helms, Brett Hayes, pinch-hitter Donnie Murphy and Cameron Maybin also drove in a run apiece before Morrison completed the rally with his two-run double.
Gaby Sanchez extended his RBI streak to seven games with a run-scoring single in the ninth. The rookie has collected 16 RBIs in his last nine contests.
Anibal Sanchez (11-8) benefited from the comeback, notching his fourth win in six decisions despite allowing four runs and nine hits in five innings.
Jonathon Niese (8-6) surrendered seven runs and five hits in 5 2/3 innings. The left-hander, who walked three and struck out eight, allowed more than one run for just the fourth time in 12 starts.
