Dodgers 6, Astros 3

Los Angeles scored twice on an error in the ninth inning and pinch-hitter James Loney added an RBI double as the Dodgers posted a 6-3 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday.

Reed Johnson recorded two hits, scored a pair of runs and drove in another for the Dodgers, who improved to 2-4 on their season-high 10-game road trip.

Pinch-hitter Trent Oeltjen drew a leadoff walk from Brandon Lyon (6-6) and Johnson followed with a bunt single. Lyon then fielded A.J. Ellis' sacrifice but made an errant throw, allowing Oeltjen and Johnson to score.

Tim Byrdak came in and served up an RBI double by Loney that gave the Dodgers a 6-3 cushion.

Kenley Jensen (1-0) tossed a perfect eighth inning for his first career win. Hong-Chih Kuo worked a scoreless ninth for his ninth save in 10 opportunities.

Los Angeles grabbed a 3-0 lead against Wandy Rodriguez in the fourth inning. Casey Blake led off the frame with his 15th home run of the season while Johnson and Ellis delivered back-to-back RBI singles later in the inning.

The Astros got on the board in the bottom half as Michael Bourn hit a leadoff triple and scored on Jeff Keppinger's base hit. Brett Wallace began the fifth with his second blast of the year and Bourn plated Angel Sanchez with a groundout four batters later to knot the game at 3-3.

Rodriguez had allowed fewer than two earned runs in seven of his previous nine outings, but yielded three runs and five hits in seven innings with three walks and a season high-tying 10 strikeouts. Dodgers starter John Ely gave up three runs and six hits in six frames.

Keppinger and Sanchez had two hits apiece for Houston, which has lost two straight at home after winning five in a row.
